Dopo aver pensato a lungo ad una nuova mostra, ho dovuto considerare quanto tempo avrei dovuto dedicarci.

Sapevo che una buona organizzazione avrebbe richiesto mesi per un evento che sarebbe durato un paio di settimane o meno, cui difficilmente avrei potuto essere presente dall'inizio alla fine, ed a cui molte delle persone che avrei voluto invitare non avrebbero potuto partecipare.

Una possibile soluzione sarebbe stata la creazione di un evento online ospitato sul mio sito web (www.giovannigenovesi.it), ma il tempo richiesto per prepararlo non sarebbe stato di molto minore. Inoltre, non credo che il web sia l'opzione ideale per meglio far apprezzare l'arte, poiché tende a promuovere interessi vuoti e superficiali o banali distrazioni.

Poi, siccome avrei voluto offrire al pubblico la possibilità di osservare bene i miei ultimi lavori, accomunati da uno stile molto grafico e da dimensioni ridotte, e magari di portarsi dietro oggetto concreto, cui affidare pure le mie riflessioni sull’Arte e la spiegazione della mia arte, ecco che ho trovato la soluzione nella stampa.

Così ho deciso di pubblicare un libro. EFFE.

After spending quite some time thinking about a new exhibition, I had to come to terms with the time I could actually devote to it.

I knew that to prepare something good I would have to spend months working on an event that would have lasted only a couple of weeks or less; plus it would have been quite complicated for me to be present from start to finish, not to mention the many friends that would have missed it because it would be impossible to attend.

A solution could have been to create an online event hosted on my website (www.giovannigenovesi.it), though again the time required to redesign the site would not have been much less. What is more, in my opinion, the web is not the best option when it comes to the appreciation of art. Alas, it is much more able to promote, dare I say it, shallow, superficial interests, if not just mere distractions.

I wanted to offer the public a chance to better observe my latest works, which share a very graphic style and a small size, and also to provide a concrete object, a vehicle for my reflections on Art and an explanation of what I have done.

I decided, therefore, to publish a book. EFFE.
